Polar
Regions have gained renewed interest as the centennial anniversaries of the
great polar explorers approach. This has inspired many adventurers to head
to Polar Regions to embark on exciting new expeditions. Recognizing the growing
need for polar training, Northwinds has opened a Polar Training Center in
Iqaluit, on Baffin Island in the Canadian Arctic. On Frobisher Bay , we have
ice conditions that one may encounter on an expedition to Greenland , the
South or North Pole.
NorthWinds offers three Polar Training options:
Extreme Polar Training: Open to anyone who qualifies, this training is offered when temperatures are intensely cold, to prepare those who dare to dream of extreme polar expeditions.
Kite Ski: Offered in the spring on Frobisher Bay when the winds are strong and the temperatures are not so cold. This will prepare you for an expedition that will involve both kite-skiing and skiing.
